For insomnia caused by overwork, stress or anxiety, drink passion flower tea one hour before bedtime. Passion flower tea is a evergreen climbing vine with white petal flowers. It gets its name from the crown of thorns worn in the Passion of Christ.  Passiflora Incarnata is the recommended variety of passion flower for insomnia.

Passion Flower tea can calm the nerves and helps to induce restful sleep

Put the dried herbs in a mug of boiling water and leave to infuse for 15 minutes.

Soaking your Feet in Chamomile 

If you don't like the taste of herbal tea, soak your feet in hot water that is infused with four bags of chamomile tea. Chamomile tea contains a herbal compound which eases stress and helps to relax the mind. It contains vitamin B6 which reduces stress and an amino acid that produces the hormones used to induce sleep.

Baroque Music

Music is another natural way to relax the mind and prepare it for sleep. Baroque music by composers such as Bach or music by Mozart is a great way to alleviate stress. Slow music (adagios etc.) are best for creating an atmosphere conducive to sleep. In kinesiology, Baroque music has been demonstrated to resonate naturally with the human body relieving stress and creating healing

How I Beat Insomnia

My name is C S Punch and I'm a holistic practitioner.

When I experienced short-term insomnia, it affected my moods, my energy levels and my motivation. It also made me feel physically unwell. I also found I was less able to cope with stress. 

I used energy healing techniques to help me which helped me to some degree and also began to look for more “practical” lifestyle adjustments and habit changes that I could make to prolong my sleep.

I have experience of helping people with insomnia through the use of complementary therapies so can also draw upon other methods from Traditional Chinese Medicine, Reiki, distant healing and elements of psychosynthesis.
